The Enhance Hamilton County Foundation has announced that it recently granted out $22,785.42 from its Hamilton County SEED Catalyst Fund. This grant is focused on economic development and community betterment in the communities of Ellsworth, Jewell, Stanhope and Stratford.
The four recipients of the Hamilton County SEED Catalyst Grant are:
Athens Woods Estate for technology equipment for their project Destination Stratford – $6,000
Jewell Market, LLC for freezers for their grocery store – $12,000
Swedish Foundation of Iowa’s Swede Bend Settlement, Inc for museum cataloging, archival storage and exhibit gallery – $2079.42
Stanhope Volunteer Fire Department for turn-out gear – $2,706
The maximum amount that can be awarded for each grant is $12,000 or 40% for the project total whichever is less. A grant review committee consisting of representatives from the four communities review the grant applications and then make recommendations to the EHCF Board for distribution of funds.
Applications are due at the end of each quarter to be considered for that quarter’s grants. The next grant deadline is December 31, 2021. This grant program is in addition to the annual grant program.
