Enhance Hamilton County Foundation Food Pantry Challenge exceeds goal of $24,000
The Enhance Hamilton County Foundation has announced that their recent Food Pantry Challenge set a new record for monies raised totaling over $25,772 benefitting Hamilton County area food pantries. This year’s food pantry challenge was held over multiple months (June – October) and was the result of an anonymous donor kickstarting the challenge with a $10,000 charitable donation. The EHCF Board donated $2,000 to make the community challenge total amount of $12,000.
“We are overwhelmed by the generosity of the anonymous donor for a second year in a row and for the trust and confidence they have placed in our organization to lead this worthwhile project. In addition, we are so pleased by the response of charitable donors and organizations that chose to participate in the challenge that helped us to exceed our goal by $1,772,” said Darcy Swon, Enhance Hamilton County Foundation Development Director. “The $25,772 raised has been distributed to the food pantries throughout Hamilton County to assist them with continuing the work they do serving those facing food insecurities especially during this time.”
Donations were sent directly to the food pantries and the final totals are as follows: The Lord’s Cupboard Bethesda Lutheran Church (Jewell) $3,940.57; Stratford Food Pantry (Stratford) $3,540.89; Trinity Lutheran Church (Webster City) $6,548.08; Upper Des Moines Opportunity (Webster City) $3,780.10; Asbury Methodist Church/All Cultures Equal $4,205.27; and St Paul Lutheran Church (Webster City) $3,757.09.
Donations to the food pantries were determined by the charitable donor’s request or shared equally if no specific food pantry was indicated.
