First Congregational United Church of Christ holds fundraiser to benefit local food pantries
The First Congregational United Church of Christ held a Brownie Sundae Drive-Thru fundraiser on June 17, 2022, to raise money to support Hamilton County food pantries through the Enhance Hamilton County Foundation (EHCF) Food Pantry Challenge. Their donation has been matched dollar-for-dollar as part of the challenge.
The Food Pantry Challenge runs through the end of September with the goal to match $12,000 put up by an anonymous donor and the EHCF Board. Checks are being distributed monthly to the local food pantries with the last distribution to be the first part of October.
If you are interested in making a donation to the Food Pantry Challenge, send your check to: Darcy Swon, Enhance Hamilton County Foundation, 501 Bank Street, Suite 1, Webster City, IA 50595. Checks should be made out to the Enhance Hamilton County Foundation with the name of the food pantry to be supported listed in the memo line. If no food pantry is indicated, the donation will be split evenly among the local food pantries. Donations for the Food Pantry Challenge will be accepted through October 1, 2022.
Supported food pantries include: Upper Des Moines Opportunity (Webster City); Trinity Lutheran Church Food Pantry (Webster City); St. Paul Lutheran Church Food Pantry (Webster City); Asbury/ACE Food Pantry (Webster City); The Lord’s Cupboard/Bethesda Lutheran Church (Jewell); and the Stratford Food Pantry (Stratford). Donations are distributed monthly to support the food pantries.
