New grant provides support for southern Hamilton County communities

The Enhance Hamilton County Foundation recently announced that they are offering a new grant focused on community betterment and economic development for the communities of Ellsworth, Jewell, Stanhope and Stratford. The Hamilton County SEED Catalyst Grant is outside the annual grant program and will be awarded quarterly.

“We received just over $141,000 in monies to put into a fund to grant out to benefit the communities in southern Hamilton County,” said Darcy Swon, Development Director of the Enhance Hamilton County Foundation. “The monies can be used by businesses, organizations or groups that are looking for assistance with projects that are focused on economic development or community betterment.”

Grants will be awarded out quarterly until the funds are exhausted. Applications are due by 5 pm on the last day of the quarter (March 30, June 30, September 30, December 31) and can be emailed in or mailed to the Foundation office.

The maximum amount for each grant is $12,000 or 40% of the project total. A grant review committee consisting of representatives from the four communities will review the grant applications and make recommendations to the EHCF Board for dispersement of funds.

The application and more information can be found on the Foundation’s website.

Questions on this grant can be directed to Swon by calling the Foundation office at 515.835.0437 or via email (dswon@enhancehamiltoncounty.org).
