New scholarship fund established to honor Dave Hilton’s impact on female student-athletes

The Enhance Hamilton County Foundation is proud to announce the creation of the Dave Hilton Character and Commitment Scholarship Fund. This scholarship honors the legacy of Dave Hilton, a beloved Webster City coach, teacher, and mentor whose dedication to female student-athletes has left a lasting impact on both the athletes he coached and the community.

Designed to support deserving female student-athletes, this scholarship recognizes individuals who exemplify the values of leadership, determination, and community spirit – qualities Dave instilled in his students and athletes throughout his years of teaching and coaching. The scholarship will provide financial assistance to help these young women pursue higher education and continue their educational journeys.

“Dave Hilton’s influence on Webster City and the young people he mentored is immeasurable,” said Darcy Swon, Director of the Enhance Hamilton County Foundation. “Through this fund, we are proud to offer supporters the chance to make tax-deductible contributions to a scholarship that honors Dave’s lasting legacy. His passion for empowering others continues to inspire, and we are excited to provide a platform that helps shape the next generation of leaders.”

The Dave Hilton Character and Commitment Scholarship will be awarded annually, with the first recipient selected in 2026. Applications will be available through Webster City High School.

Donations are now being accepted to support the scholarship fund. Contributions can be made in a variety of ways, all of which are tax-deductible. Every donation helps honor Dave’s spirit of leadership and ensures that future generations of female student-athletes will have the opportunity to further their education.
